Beginning of Class Procedure:

2. Attendance check for students in their seat.
3. Three tardies per/ report card.
4. Follow expected student behavior & get ready for our first lesson.
5. Start begging routine for the day.
Bathroom Procedure:
The bathroom procedure is also used for the drinking fountain.
1. Located in a area near the door there will be a small area of the chalkboard or a dry erase board where the students will have to sign in and out for the bathrooms.
2. The students are to sign their name to the board and then take the appropriate pass for a boy or girl to go to the bathroom.
- The appropriate times for the students to use the bathroom is in between the subjects while everyone is getting ready for the next lesson, this is also the time when the students can sharpen their pencils and get all materials ready.
4. Clean up after yourself & wash your hands.
5. Return quickly & quietly to class and get back to your designated task.
Desks/Materials during class:
1. Students will keep their books, folders, pencil boxes, and other materials in their individual desks.
2. Students will have access to their desks at all time, the teacher will explain and discuss with the students he appropriate and inappropriate times for them to be going into their desks.
3. There will also be a designated area in the classroom where
the students will keep materials they do not need on a daily basis.
For example rulers, markers, crayons, and glue.
4. The teacher and students will establish the appropriate and inappropriate times for the students to go and access these
materials. At certain times the students will have to ask for individual permission from the teacher to use these materials.
Students Attention:
1. At the beginning of the year when the class begins to go over the rules of the classroom, the students and teacher will develop a signal the teacher can use to gain the students attention at anytime.
2. The signal could be a hand movement or a word, that only the teacher and the students will know the meaning.
- This procedure will be practiced repeatedly at the beginning of the year until all the students use and understand this procedure.
End of the Day Procedure:
1. Pause
- Before beginning your end-of-day routine, I will have my students mentally clear the previous activity, by asking them to put away their books, materials, and distractions, signal for their attention after.
- As soon as they’re attentive, we will pause for 30 seconds. We will start our classroom jobs and it will be timed 5 minutes to clean up the classroom; every student has a designated job. Signal for attention.
- Check to see if students have everything they need to successfully complete at home. Have them prove their readiness by stacking their homework materials neatly on their desk, with their assignment notebook open on top, while students are sitting in their desks quietly or you will not be checked.
4. Handouts
- As I walk around I will personally attach my handout to their assignment notebook.
- After another lengthy pause, I will call on one row or table group to retrieve their backpacks and place their homework materials and handouts inside. They will have no more than 30 seconds.
- When they finish have them sit back down and put their backpacks on the floor at their side. Then I will call my next group. In time my class will become fast and efficient, finishing in just a couple minutes.
- Once everyone has their backpack on, standing by their desk and the room is quiet I will dismiss the students will a happy goodbye until tomorrow.
