In Conclusion:
In conclusion, my goal is to reach every student, as opposed to teaching to the typically developing students. While I strive to create an inclusive classroom, I try and use various teaching methods which differentiate instruction and provide students with opportunities to explore different interests, while diversifying their problem solving mechanisms. I am sure as I move throughout my teaching career my philosophies will change and grow, and I will get more "tools" in my toolbox.
Each student enters the open doors of a classroom with hopes, dreams and aspirations. My hope as a future teacher is to welcome these dreams and provide students with the drive to persist, the audacity to question, and the humility to reflect. Amongst scholastic skills and knowledge, I hope to provide my students with a key to success and learning, guiding them to each open door and harnessing their independent nature, through which they may discover growth. I know what passion and strength it takes to be a great teacher and I am by far up for the challenge. Students are so full of life and joy and I am so exited to be apart of that, as I continue my education I only hope to be able to fully assist children in the learning and love that they are so deserving of.
I believe that classroom management is very important in order for meaningful learning to happen. I am prepared to lay down the foundational values of respect, high expectations and establish well thought out routines specific to my students. I am also prepared to be a proactive teacher in preventing problems, by letting students practice positive behavior and using praise to encourage it. I know I will always have to be flexible when constructing lessons and make sure it fits the level of my students. I will always model positive behavior and provide constructive feedback. I am looking forward to the future and the amazing kids, parents, and other teachers that are yet to come my way!
